I'm happy you found my website in the midst of this vast electronic universe. I am an insatiably curious and obsessively passionate explorer. I exercise both of these things through various forms of documentary work and personal essay. These days I spend most of my time making radio stories. My work is steeped in the desire to know, understand, and archive the moment, and our personal human histories in the making.
In addition to producing my own stories, I've been a reporter, story consultant, and sound designer for various podcasts. I graduated with my MA from Eastern Michigan University where I studied Interpretation Performance Studies and fell in love with personal narrative, food writing, and oral histories. I am a graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies where I studied radio storytelling. I was a 2015 UC Berkeley 11th Hour Food and Farming Journalism Fellow. My short piece Where Do I Find You Now? Won a Third Coast International Audio Festival’s People’s Choice Award. My story Ask Me won a Gracie and an L.A Press award for best use of sound. My radio pieces have aired on KCRW’s Lost Notes, The Southern Foodways Alliance’s Gravy Podcast, BBC’s Short Cuts, CBC’s Love Me, KCRW's UnFictional, KCRW’s Good Food, The Splendid Table, ABC's Earshot, ARRVLS, Rumblestrip, Nashville Public Radio’s Neighbors, Third Coast International Audio Festival's Re:Sound, Public Radio Remix, and others. My short piece “Hello Echo” is currently featured in an audio art installation called: Soundhouse: The Listening Body on The Barbican Centre’s website. Thanks for stopping by.
